Imbolc, Feburary 1st 2004
Imbolc: Sharing the Flame! Feburary 1, 2004, 5 PM. Facilitated by Lance. As Imbolc approaches we begin to see the days grow longer again and our thoughts turn towards the end of winter and the work of the coming year. It is a time of beginnings, initiations, and plan-making for the days and seasons ahead of us. We will invoke Brighid to join our circle as we gather to celebrate the return of the light, honour our past Challenges, and accept new Challenges for the coming year. We will ask Her blessing upon the candles and other tools we use in our lives. Please bring any candles and/or tools you wish to be blessed! Those who have accepted Challenges during past CTC Imbolc rituals may speak of their accomplishments and those wishing to accept new Challenges will do so. This is an opportunity to announce new beginnings, or continuation of old tasks, and ask for the help and support of our whole community and the Gods in your endeavors.
Eostara, March 21, 2004
Eostara, Spring arrives; Sunday, March 21, 2004, 5 PM in the common room of the CARE building at ERUUF. Facilitated by Sharon. At the autumnal equinox, we decended to hell with Persephone. Now at the spring equinox, we will revisit Hades and Persephone and attempt to negotiate our return. Some of you ate in Hell and thereby committed to a year there. You will have a choice to make: Stay in hell for the full year or attempt a bargain with Hades. Participation in Mabon is not required to participate in this ritual. Join us as we count our treasure and choose our path back to the light.
Beltane, May 2, 2004
On this Beltane, the May Queen and Green Man will teach us how to cultivate fertility in our lives: physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The divine couple with show us how the elemental gifts of information, infatuation, inspiration, and initiation work together for a bountiful outcome. This ritual will be held at UUCH. Please gather at 5 p.m., and the ritual will begin at 5:30. There will be a pot-luck afterwards. UUCH has a full kitchen, so you can refidgerate and/or heat items. Facilitated by Amy. Please contact her at ymasen@bearcircle.net if you are interested in helping with the ritual.
Litha, June 20, 2004
Work is Love Made Visible. This is a time where the sun is at its peak, and the day is long. The God is a His peak and begins his decline unto death. Their union is so complete it has become death. We celebrate the male energy, the energy of the outward world, that which has become manifest. Celebrate with us the joy of the season and the triumphs of our efforts. Facilitated by Dick.
Lammas, August 1, 2004
As the first harvest approaches, the Goddess of fruits and blossoms, Pomona, and the God of Autumn Winds, Vertumnus, celebrate the abundance of the season. Lammas is traditionally the time of harvest fairies to give thanks for abundant flocks and crops, to settle up the annual accounts and rents on the farms, and to set aside a share of nature's bounty for the deities and for the next season. Facilitated by Tamia
Mabon, Sunday Sept. 19, 2004
This year’s mabon ritual will honor the loss of light and heat that characterizes autumn, as well as the reunion of the mind with the shadow self that it brings. We will tell the story of Surya, a Hindu Sun God, and his wives Sanjna and Chaya, conscience and shadow. Unable to bear the searing heat and blinding light of her husband, Sanjna takes refuse in the cool forest, leaving Chaya, her shadow, in her place. But Surya chases after his love and makes the greatest sacrifice of all, he gives of himself. Each participant will bring home a part of Surya. Chose your piece well and it will bring a deeper realization of your true self. Facilitated by Eliza.
